RRR के निर्देशक SS Rajamouli को New York Film Critics Circle के 88वी Award Ceremony में Best Director के अवॉर्ड से सम्मानित किया गया है।
Best Director का अवॉर्ड लेकर SS Rajamouli ने अपने परिवार, RRR फिल्म के cast crew और jury का धन्यवाद दिया ।
Rajamouli ने कहा "Receiving this award from you is a great honour. I really appreciate it. You have honoured my whole cast and crew and have made a lot of people take notice of a small film from the south of India. Many people don't know that such a field exists but because of this, now I am sure many people will look at it.
(आपसे यह पुरस्कार प्राप्त करना एक बड़े सम्मान की बात है। मैं वास्तव में इसकी प्रशंसा करता हूँ। आपने मेरी पूरी कास्ट और क्रू को सम्मानित किया है और बहुत से लोगों को भारत के दक्षिण की एक छोटी सी फिल्म की ओर आकर्षित किया है। बहुत से लोग नहीं जानते कि ऐसा कोई क्षेत्र मौजूद है लेकिन इस वजह से अब मुझे यकीन है कि बहुत से लोग इस पर गौर करेंगे।)"
इसके आगे उन्होंने कहा "With RRR, I saw the same kind of reception in the West. They were reacting the same way that Indians did.
(आरआरआर को देखकर पश्चिम में लोग उसी तरीके से प्रतिक्रिया दे रहे थे। वे भारतीयों की तरह ही प्रतिक्रिया दे रहे थे।)"
फिल्म RRR के interval से पहले वाले scene पर बोलते हुए Rajamouli ने कहा "The look on the audience's faces... It was pure joy, awe. We could look at their faces and know what they were thinking. Like 'what in the hell did we just witness!' This is exactly what I want from my audience... pure joy of watching the film in the theatre.
(दर्शकों के चेहरों पर नज़र... यह शुद्ध आनंद, विस्मय था। हम उनके चेहरों को देख सकते थे और जान सकते थे कि वे क्या सोच रहे थे। जैसे 'हमने क्या देखा!' ठीक यही मैं अपने दर्शकों से चाहता हूं... थिएटर में फिल्म देखने का शुद्ध आनंद।)"
